Ellen's VW Campervan

Archie is our 2017 VW California Ocean, and here's a little more about it: At the front, it has a 2.0-liter diesel engine producing 200 hp (8 l/100 km) with an automatic transmission. It features GPS with European maps, cruise control, automatic climate control, and heated seats. In the rear, there's a kitchen with a two-burner gas cooktop (gas included) and a sink with a cold water tap, a 35-liter fresh water tank, a gray water tank, a 42-liter refrigerator, and a power cable for connecting to campsite electricity. The two rear seats fold down to create a comfortable bed, and there's an additional bed in the electric pop-up roof. The entire vehicle has integrated LED lighting powered by two additional leisure batteries. We've found that the batteries have enough power to last for three days with normal use of the lights and charging mobile phones. If it takes longer, we use the electrical hookup or drive the van to recharge the batteries. For winter, there's an integrated, diesel-powered auxiliary heater (parking heater) that keeps the van warm even in sub-zero temperatures. Archie includes everything you need: cooking utensils, pots and pans, plates, bowls and cutlery, a table and two chairs for outdoor use, an integrated awning, and bedding and pillows for two people, including clean sheets and covers. The rear bench seat folds into a comfortable bed and there is an additional bed inside the Electric Pop-top roof. There is integrated LED lighting throughout the van which is powered by the 2 additional leisure batteries. We found that this has enough power to run for 3 days with normal use of the lights and charging phones. Any longer and we have used hookup points, or driven the van to charge up the batteries. For the winter there is an integrated diesel fueled night heater which can keep the van warm even in minus temperatures.
