First Camp Arcus – Luleå is a nice family campsite with a lovely location right by the Lule river, not far from central Luleå. The campsite has great pitches for those who want to live in their own mobile home or caravan, but there is also the option of staying in one of the cabins of the campsite. There are also several service centers in the area, where you will find the service you need.

In winter, it is possible to go cross-country skiing on the natural ice in the area. There is also the possibility of downhill skiing or ice skating. Organizers of various excursions can come and pick you up at the campsite, for example if you want to try dog ​​sledding or go out to see the northern lights. When you get back to the campsite, you can relax in a warming wood sauna.

In addition to accommodation in houses and cottages, Sandsjögården offers 20 pitches with electricity, of which all are scenically located, for example next to Sandsjön. At the campsite there is a simple, but well-maintained service house. In addition, there is a playground for the children, three fireplaces for the guests, a small barbecue cabin that faces the lake, as well as a sauna and the possibility of winter bathing in a hole drilled in the ice.

As mentioned above, the resort is run by a Swiss couple, whose love for sled dogs eventually led them to move to Swedish Lapland. The dogs now live in a kennel next to Sandsjögården and it is possible to book in on various activities together with the dogs. You can take part in everything from “Meet and Greet” to ski tours, snowshoeing, or sledding. The campsite also organizes guided snowmobile tours and, if you’re lucky, you can see the magical northern lights.

First Camp Ånnaboda – Örebro is an excellent destination for those who like wilderness life and beautiful landscapes. There are three different service houses on the campsite, one of which is equipped with a laundry room and washing machines.

Only 20 kilometers from First Camp Ånnaboda – Örebro is the city of Örebro. Here, you will find the grand castle of the city as well as the fine and charming Wadköping open-air museum. In addition, there are good shopping opportunities in the city and a large selection of restaurants and cafes.

Good to know

The nearest bus stop is right outside reception, where you will also find bus timetables. Another thing that you should be aware of is that the kiosk of the campsite is only open during the spring and summer seasons.

4. Kläppens Camping

Kläppen Camping in Sälen (the Swedish word for “seal”) is excellent for those who want to winter camp and enjoy skiing. It is within walking distance to the ski slopes from all places on the campsite. If you prefer to rest your feet, there is also an electrically lit cross-country track and groomed snowmobile trails that take you all the way to Kläppenberget or Kalfjället.

Kläppen’s campsite has an excellent location, within walking distance to the slopes where you can go skiing or snowboarding. The campsite has room for mobile homes and caravans up to ten meters long. As a guest, you can turn the electricity on and off via the internet, which means you can turn on the heat for a caravan before you arrive.

The large service building has a newly built part where there is a lovely sauna, in addition to toilets and showers. The reception of the campsite is located at Hotell Kurbits and there is a grocery store about 400 meters from the campsite. With the campsite as a starting point, you will have great opportunities for both alpine skiing and cross-country skiing nearby. In addition, many different activities are arranged for children and families.

First Camp Orsa – Dalarna is a year-round campsite, and even though it is nice to visit the campsite all year round, it is something unique to be here in the winter. Here, you can conveniently live in your mobile home or caravan in the wintertime, and you choose a camping site yourself on the map. Do you want to live near the lake or do you prefer to be near the reception? The choice is yours. At the campsite, there are no less than seven service houses, with all the services you need, including a laundry room.

If you camp at First Camp Orsa – Dalarna in the winter, you can take advantage of the campsite being only 15 kilometers from the ski resort Orsa Grönklitt. In Orsa Grönklitt, you will find no less than 130 kilometers of well-prepared cross-country trails. With 13 lifts and 22 runs, there are also good opportunities for slaloming or snowboarding.

Idre Fjäll is a large mountain resort at which you can choose between staying in hotels, cabins, or the campsite. In the camping area, there are a total of eight service houses with well-equipped kitchens, toilets, showers, changing rooms, saunas, laundry rooms, and drying rooms. With the campsite as a starting point, you can easily discover the entire area where there are plenty of restaurants and eateries, and in winter also AfterSki. In addition, there is a grocery store and a sports shop, as well as places at which you can rent ski equipment.

People travel to Idre Fjäll to experience nature, practice sports, and take part in outdoor activities, regardless of the time of the year. During summer and autumn, you can, for example, hike and mountain bike, whereas the snowy season is excellent for skiing and sledding at one of the most popular skiing facilities in Sweden.
