The spot is located directly by the old customs house, built in the 19th century, and exudes an exciting atmosphere from yesteryear. What makes this campsite so unique is the contrast between the history of this place and the first-class camping adventure with modern and chic facilities. Here you can combine both. You can arrive with your camper, caravan or camping van, so you can use one of the three pitches. All of them have electricity. You can also use the kitchen with refrigerators and freezers, as well as the fireplace for barbecuing.

Alternatively, a very special camping highlight awaits you, and you choose to spend the night in a tepee. These are equipped with a double bed or two single beds. Bedsheets and towels are provided at the campsite. For children, there is an exceptionally beautiful sand and water landscape to play in. Meanwhile, parents can relax on a sunny terrace with lounge chairs. If you want to eat out, you can get to a restaurant after a 15-minute walk. Shopping facilities can be found in nearby Klettgau, Wutöschingen and Waldshut-Tiengen.

Trip Tip:

Starting from Klettgau, after about 30 kilometers you will reach the town of Blumberg, where a very famous destination awaits you. Here begins the section of the so-called Sauschwänzlebahn – a railroad line that is still used by historic steam locomotives. After a one-hour train ride, the nostalgic train finally brings you back to Blumberg on the same route. This is truly an unforgettable experience, and not just for train fans!

2. Adventure at the airfield

Kühndorf

Haven’t you always wanted to camp in an unusual place, for example at an airfield? By the way, you don’t have to worry about possible aircraft noise at night, because the sports planes of the Dolmar flight school take off and land here only during the day. So there is always something to see and a bit of entertainment. Alternatively, you can spend the night in a very secluded place right on the edge of the forest on the small mountain Dolmar, with a view into the distance.

Just let them know immediately after your arrival.

There are numerous sights on the island of Poel, such as the lighthouse, various beach bays, the botanical garden of the University of Wismar or the town center. All of them can be connected, for example, on a bike tour. For this purpose, you will find several bike rentals on the island. For a snack or an extended lunch break, you can choose from a variety of restaurants and bistros – some are even open all year round. In the town center you will also find supermarkets, a few stores, the Poel Island Museum, a small harbor, the island church and a tourist information office.

The historic old town has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002 and is absolutely worth seeing. Trip Tip:

You don’t have to travel far from Ostbevern to reach the low mountain range of Teutoburg Forest. Great hiking trails, excursion destinations, nature parks, streams, and rivers can be found on a huge area in the border region of North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony. A very fascinating sight is the Externsteine, which you can explore along the adventure trails in the nature reserve. The imposing rock formations rise up to 40 meters above sea level and were considered a holy site in the Middle Ages, the function of which still poses a mystery today. The best thing to do is to follow in the footsteps of times long past and combine an excursion into history with a great nature experience.

Of course, they are also happy to be petted! Or how about a picnic among the apple trees with great products from the farm store? The organic apples from Obsthof Moll are used to make real treats, such as apple spritzer, jam, apple chips, liqueur or apple sauce. The orchards are now in the 4th generation of family ownership and are so lovingly cared for so that they will be preserved for many more generations to come.

Located in the south of Baden-Württemberg, the Obsthof Moll is an ideal place to stay in the Lake Constance region. The center of Deggenhausertal is within walking distance. Here you will find shopping facilities, a gas station, an indoor swimming pool and a country bakery. Trip Tip:

The region of Lake Constance-Upper Swabia-Allgäu is a very popular destination and offers great excursion opportunities, such as the city of Ravensburg. From Deggenhausertal you need about 20 minutes to the famous tower city. The name is no coincidence, because there are more than a dozen towers within the city center. The Blaserturm and the Mehlsack can also be visited and offer a sensational view over Ravensburg. Other sights that you should not miss are the Marienplatz, the old town, the former Franciscan convent of St. Michael or the museum district – by the way, there is also a museum of Ravensburg games here.

This coastal body of water alone separates the community of Luckow – where your campsite is located – from the Baltic Sea island of Usedom. You should not miss this excursion tip if you stay in the region for several days. You can reach Usedom within about an hour, and finally you can easily cross the Zecherin bridge to the island. Once there, you have a wide choice of exciting and interesting sights, such as the Usedom Nature Park, the Mellenthin moated castle, the Ahlbeck pier, the Bansin quarry coast, St. Peter’s Church in Wolgast, the Karlshagen Nature Conservation Center or the observatory in Heringsdorf. Here, there really is something for everyone’s taste. By the way, Usedom is divided into a German and a Polish half, so you can easily explore two countries during your visit.
