At First Camp Orsa – Dalarna, there are nice places for motorhomes and caravans, and you can choose to stay near the water, in greener natural areas, or perhaps closer to the pool, service center, or various activities. During the summer season, the restaurant, ice cream bar, and shop are open, and during the high season, there is also a large program of activities.


By Lake Orsa, there is a kilometer-long beautiful beach, which may explain why the place is sometimes called the “Riviera of Dalarna”. For those who prefer, there is also a large pool area with a pirate ship, a children’s pool, and a water slide. In addition, there is adventure golf, a diving board, a playground, and the possibility to rent a bicycle, pedal car, canoe, pedal boat, or perhaps a SUP board. In Orsa, there are great opportunities for hiking, cycling, and fishing. Here is also Siljan Geopark, which is Sweden’s first national geopark with unique geosites.

Good to know

Please note that even though the campsite is open all year round, different units within the campsite, such as restaurants and shops, may have different opening hours. If you would like to go somewhere by bus, the nearest bus stop is as close as 600 meters away and Orsa bus station is 1500 meters away.

2. Leksand Strand

Leksand Strand is a 5-star family campsite at Siljan’s beach, within walking distance of the adventure park Leksand Sommarland. At the campsite, you have access to a sandy beach and swimming pool, as well as a restaurant, a shop, a kiosk, and a wide range of different activities.

At Leksand Strand, there are 466 campsites, which are located on different levels / heights, close to the water. The sites are divided into a system with different colors, so you can easily choose which service you need, the location in the camping area, and the price level. If you do not have your own mobile home or caravan, there is also the option of staying in a cabin, glamping tent, or renting a set-up and fully furnished caravan.


At this nice campsite in Dalarna, there is a barbeque area and a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, pizza, and a BBQ buffet. At First Camp Lugnet – Falun you can find a nice place for your motorhome, caravan, or tent, surrounded by greenery. In the camping area, there is a reception and service house with all the services you need. You may also partake in different activities, such as mini golf and boules.


The campsite is located next to a nature reserve where you can walk or exercise. At Lugnet’s sports and leisure center, there is also a large selection of exercise tracks, cycle tracks, and ski tracks, as well as an indoor sports facility with a gym, swimming hall, relaxation area, and a temperate swimming pool with water slides. All year round, you can use the cable car and lift to get up to the ski jumping slopes and the jumping tower, where you have a fantastic view of Falun and the surrounding area.

Excursion tips:

Not far from First Camp Lugnet Falun, you will find Falu mine, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Here, you can join exciting underground mining tours, and you can also visit the interesting mining museum.

Good to know

From the reception, it is only about 50 meters to walk to the nearest bus stop, from where you can take a bus to the central parts of Falun.

4. Sollerö Camping

Sollerö Camping is run by the Caravan Club of Sweden, which is Sweden’s oldest and largest association for mobile outdoor life. Members of the association as well as non-members are welcome at the campsite, while members have a certain discount on the price. The campsite has a total of 205 campsites with electricity, of which almost half are guest pitches, while the others are seasonal pitches during summer. There are three service houses on the campsite, one of which has a kitchen and a laundry room.


There is a shallow beach, perfect for swimming and playing, as well as a jetty. Here, it is possible to rent a rowing boat, canoe, or SUP board, as well as buy fishing licenses. For the children, there is a playground with a slide, cable car, and jumping pillow. In the area around the campsite, there are excellent opportunities for walking, hiking, or cycling. If you come to the campsite during winter, you can go ice skating or cross-country skiing.

If you want a bit of magic in your life, you can take a trip to the land of fairytales Tomteland where various characters from the world of fairy tales awaits. You can also go up to the top of Gesundaberget to enjoy the view from Toppstugan.

In the summer, camping at Sollerö Camping is popular, so it is a good idea to make a reservation in advance. If you come during winter, you don’t need to reserve your spot, but if it’s a snowy winter, it might be good to call ahead so the campsite has time to shovel your spot properly.

At First Camping Moraparken – Dalarna, there is both a cottage village and a campsite with 600 pitches. There are also cozy glamping tents, which offer a close-to-nature camping experience with comfortable beds and a private terrace. The area also has a hotel, restaurant, bistro, shop, service center, tennis hall, swimming hall, bowling, and gym. Impressive selection, isn’t it?


The campsite is perfect for anyone who likes outdoor life and outdoor activities. In the area, there are several different trails where you can hike or bike, and in winter, those turn into nice ski tracks. You may also immerse yourself in adventure golf, playgrounds, a jumping pillow, and the possibility to rent a bicycle or pedal car. In high season, a packed program is also offered, including a children’s club, training, and entertainment. It is also close to the center of Mora, with shops, cafes, and restaurants.

Excursion tips:

Close to Mora, you will find Tomteland, filled with fairy-tale worlds and mysterious creatures. It may also be interesting to see Dala horse production in Nusnäs or visit Zorngården, where you can see masterpieces by the artist Anders Zorn.

At Älvdalens Camping in Dalarna, there are around 100 camping pitches for those who arrive with a motorhome, caravan, or tent, most of which are equipped with electricity. In addition, there are about 30 cottages for rent. The campsite has a scenic location close to the wilderness, and many come to primarily enjoy the peace and nature. In the areas around the campsite, you can hike, mountain bike, paddle, swim, or fish. It is also possible to book your spot on a moose safari.


From the campsite, it is only a five-minute walk to the center of Älvdalen, where you will find shops and restaurants as well as a swimming hall with a 50-meter pool, water slide, whirlpool, and gym.

Excursion tips:

A visit to the Hykieberg nature reserve can be a pleasant day trip. It is also possible to drive to Fulufjället National Park, which is the southernmost mountain national park in Sweden. The biggest attraction here is Njupeskär, which, with its height of 93 meters, is the highest waterfall in Sweden. From here, it is also not too far to the winter sports centers Idre and Lake Grövelsjön, where it is possible to meet both Sami and reindeer.
