Do you know the laundry detergent Weisser Riese? No? No problem. Our T5 camper van is also called that – and it travels just as cleanly. But we haven't even introduced ourselves yet. Hi! We are Manu, Jyri, Ilma, and Alvar – a small family from Zurich with a huge, white bus. We think: Traveling by bus is one of the most wonderful experiences you can have on this planet. Speaking of the planet: Is it even acceptable these days to drive around in such a large vehicle? We asked ourselves that too. And we found a great solution. With our bus, you can do it. All the CO2 that the Weisser Riese emits is avoided elsewhere. Specifically, by providing households in rural Kenya with free, efficient cookstoves. With these cookstoves, they need 40 to 50% less firewood to prepare their meals. By avoiding these CO2 emissions, the climate impact of our bus is offset. This makes our White Giant cleaner than almost all other means of transport. And it won't even cost you more than other buses on this platform. Not bad, right? But the best part is yet to come: You won't have to do without anything else either. Our bus is equipped with everything you need for a dream trip: sleeping accommodations, cooking facilities, dishes, a bike rack, and a heater. It also has a 140W solar panel to power the refrigerator independently or charge your phone, computer, and e-bike. In our experience, if the bus doesn't have it, you don't need it. Toilets and showers are available at every campsite – or in the great outdoors. Have we forgotten anything? Oh yes, we do have a few rules: We are happy to share our White Giant with you. We'd love it if you didn't just speed down the highway, but instead enjoyed exploring the main and secondary roads of the world. And these cost so much that we couldn't afford them. Why don't you offset your emissions in Switzerland? Because it doesn't matter where in the world the CO2 is saved. And because the same amount of money can prevent far more CO2 emissions in Kenya than in Switzerland. Furthermore, replacing wood fires is also beneficial for the health of cooks, as the new stoves produce less smoke. Do these carbon offset agreements even add up?
