For a 3-week holiday at campsites without heating or showers, 2 to 5 kg of gas is sufficient. ‼️ Swiss gas cylinders can only be exchanged in Switzerland. ⚡ Cooking / Grilling: Gas consumption with 45 minutes of cooking per day is approximately 600 g/week. If grilling is also done for 45 minutes daily, an additional 600 g/week will be used. ⚡ Hot Water: Heating 10 liters of water in the boiler from 15 to 60 °C in 25 minutes consumes approximately 200 g of gas. With moderate water consumption, 10 liters of hot water is sufficient for two showers of 2 to 3 minutes each. ⚡ Heating: Gas consumption for heating is significantly higher. Depending on the desired indoor temperature and the current outdoor temperature, consumption is 3 to 5 kg per day. If 230 V shore power is connected, the electric heater can be used for heating. 👉 Weight Saving Tips 👈 Experience shows that every campervan is always close to the 3500 kg weight limit. The following tips can help you save up to 250 kg. ⚡ Water: Never travel with a full fresh water tank (102 liters). A 20-liter tank is perfectly sufficient for the essentials. Always empty the wastewater tank into the designated disposal points before each trip. ⚡ Gas: Without heating or showering, one gas cylinder is enough for a 3-week vacation. ⚡ Diesel: The 90-liter diesel tank provides a range of 800 to 900 km, depending on driving style. Therefore, it's not always necessary to fill the tank. ⚡ Bicycles: If bicycles are only used once or twice per vacation, you can leave them at home. Two e-bikes can easily weigh 50 to 60 kg together. ⚡ Spare tire: When using "normal" roads and campsites, a spare tire (32 kg) is generally not necessary. A tire repair kit is sufficient. ⚡ Food: Buy food and drinks locally whenever possible.
