Reviews
We had a wunderful ten days in the Tromso/Senja area with Tony's camper. Its spacious (6.6m long, about 2.40m wide), has a double bed, bathroom with shower, toilett, kitchen, fridge (12V,220V,gas), gas heating (2x11kg) as well as 220V roof air conditioning for warming and cooling, a 140l water tank as well as a bike mount and outdoor chairs and table. Tony was very helpful and friendly throughout and answered several questions we had before booking. While not directly located in Tromso, Rossfjordstraumen is not difficult to reach from Tromso via ship to Tennskjaer (40min) and bus line 307 (20min) to Rossfjordstraumen skola. Tony picked us up there. We arrived with two big suitecases, everything easily found its place in the camper. We put the empty suitecases into the shower, so these were out of the way. There is a big wardrobe with coat hooks that was very handy for our outdoor gear. Several outlets for charging our devices are active all the time. The table in the kitchenette is big, the 'sofa' comfortable. The front seats offer a wide panoramic view as compared to a standard camper van. The bed is cosy and we kept it warm during night with the very silent gas heating, as the AC, while very effective, is a bit noisy. We brought a thermos bottle and added a few things to the kitchen like a frenchpress or bowls to suite our habits. The camper is easy to drive, gears 1-4 are powerful and fit nicely for the costal roads that we were driving most of the time. Setup like this, we explored the Senja, Sommaroy, Tromso and Skibotn - Mandalen area. We mostly stayed on camping grouds with electricity, but also 3 days in a row without electricity (maybe 1h drive per day) without problems. Nights were down to a few deg, and heating worked like a charm. Lots of space in the fridge, and cooking was easy. After several days of rain we were lucky to see stunning polar lights under clear skies during a four day gemomagnetic storm. All in all, a perfect trip in a wonderful landscape in a comfortable mobile home.
