Armin's Mercedes Campervan

Our self-converted Sprinter van for two people features a pull-out bed that extends from 80cm (sofa mode) to 1.60m (bed mode) wide and 1.90m long. Everything is very sturdy and practically built – nothing rattles or squeaks while driving or living in it. There is ample storage space under the bed, above the driver's seats, and in two old Swiss shipping containers. The kitchen has a built-in two-burner stove that runs on methylated spirits, making it significantly easier and safer than a gas stove. It's fully equipped with everything you need for cooking and eating, including cutlery, dishes, pots, pans, etc. The van also features a compressor refrigerator for ice-cold drinks and food, a small sink, and an electric outdoor shower. Inside, there are several individually controllable LED lights, from dimmable main lighting to adjustable colored LED strips. Everything is conveniently controlled via the control panel of an old sailing yacht. A roof hatch with a built-in fan, along with the robust insulation, ensures a comfortable climate even in hot or cold temperatures. The electrical system is powered by a 180Ah auxiliary battery, which is charged while driving by the alternator, a solar panel on the roof, and, if necessary, via a shore power connection with a 50m extension cord. So, you should never run out of power. For entertainment, two built-in studio monitors in the rear provide crystal-clear sound. While driving, newly installed speakers and an additional subwoofer deliver excellent sound. Everything is always in view on the large touchscreen car radio with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. For maneuvering, there's a reversing camera that activates automatically, allowing you to park with centimeter precision. A digital rearview mirror provides excellent rear visibility and also records video to the front and rear, should anything happen while driving. Once you've found a cozy spot, there's an awning that's very easy to assemble. There are also two very comfortable chairs and a large folding bamboo table. In addition, there are all sorts of little extras like umbrellas and various lamps. Our campervan loves driving on quiet country roads, where its large wheels and rear-wheel drive give it excellent road holding. Thanks to the newly installed cruise control, you can now also comfortably drive long distances on the motorway. My girlfriend and I spent almost two years converting the van and are excited to share it with you now. New from 2021: The campervan now runs reliably with a new engine and additional cruise control.
